In this role, you’ll …

Be proficient in at least 3 programming languages/frameworks:

• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React, and Amber.
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, and .Net.

Be knowledgeable in database structure and queries.

On day one we’ll expect you to…

• Have reviewed the principles of Agile and Scrum.

• Be capable of receiving feedback/criticism from the team and stakeholders and taking action to address.

• Be capable of assisting in the design, coding, documentation, and testing of technical solutions.

• Have an understanding of web design and development principles, code versioning and source control tools.

Bonus points if you have reviewed and understand the principles of the Agile and Software Craftsmanship Manifestos.

Team Culture

Strivven Media’s development team has focused on forming a strong agile-based (scrum/kanban) culture. As an internal development team all of our work is against company products. This allows us to grant the development team maximum flexibility in how they choose to manage their sprints internally so long as commitments are kept.

• We focus on two week sprints.

• We understand and accept the trade-offs of agile between the stakeholders and the development team.

• We trust our team to meet their committment and management works to minimize or eliminate any roadblocks that hinder that objective.

• We protect our team from hindrances and overhead wherever possible.

You will work directly with stakeholders on a structured design board to identify, scope, and prioritize works. Transparency is key to ensuring alignment between stakeholder desires and development requirements.

• The design board focuses on the what and the why.

• The development team focuses on the how.

• Both groups agree on the when.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $71,747.00 – $125,000.00 per year
