About the role

The Software Engineer will be primarily responsible for driving the quality process from the creation and execution of end-to-end test plans as well as the management of all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met. Stratton software assets are tested in terms of functionality, usability, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with other legacy or external systems.

What are the key responsibilities?

• Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables
• Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plans
• Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artefacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts
• Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
• Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
• Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability
• Perform testing and verification for websites, mobile applications, background services, and web services
• Investigate and replicate customer problems referred by technical support
• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
• Participate in agile development processes such as estimations, standups, retrospectives, etc.

What do I need to bring to the table?

• Prior Experience as a Software Engineer, Finance Industry experienced preferred
• Strong testing experience – both manual and automated
• Expertise in browserdevice compatibility, website accessibility, user centered design concepts
• Experience in automation testing using Selenium, Soap UI, JMeter, or similar systems a MAJOR PLUS
• Expertise in the creation of clear, concise detail oriented test plans/cases that map to functional and technical requirements
• Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications.
• Ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders: development, project management, and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in agile development lifecycle desirable
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related fields desirable
