Strategic Risk Solutions Hiring for Accounting Associate Job at Burlington, VT Full Time

Strategic Risk Solutions Inc (SRS), a fast-growing privately-owned insurance services company, is looking for a full-time Accounting Associate to support the corporate accounting and client management teams in our Burlington, Vermont office. This position will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, premium tax filing, and other duties.

SRS provides consulting, accounting, and management services to insurance companies, predominantly those licensed as captive insurance companies, in the US, Barbados, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and Europe with a staff of 215 employees and expects to continue to grow and expand domestically and abroad.

Duties:

· Work with client account teams to coordinate filing and payment of state premium taxes

· Enter vendor bills and maintain vendor records, including new vendor forms and W-9s

· Team lead for annual preparation of 1099s

· Enter employee expense reports for reimbursement

· Enter transactions into bank websites (ACH and wire payments, check deposits)

· Preparation of client invoices, adjustments, and additions

· Support annual audit process

· Send incomplete time entry reminder emails to employees

· Utilization reporting

· Back-up for front desk duties such as check processing

Attributes and skill sets
· 3-5 years prior accounts payable and accounts receivable experience

· Experience with bank transaction processing (ACH, wires, check deposits) and reconciliations required

· Familiarity with QuickBooks or comparable general ledger package required

· Proficient with MS Office suite, advanced with Excel

· Strong self-management and motivation with the ability to work effectively in a small office environment

· Excellent organizational, planning & prioritization skills

· Associate’s degree or higher preferred; or equivalent work experience
