The Role

We are looking for a reliable, organised, and proactive Stores & Site Facilities Operative to join our team on site. This is an important hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the facility.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the issuing, logging, and control of PPE, tools, and engineering spares, while also helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, tidiness, and organisation across the site. This role will be central to helping us build and develop a new stores department as the business continues to grow.

This position will involve a significant amount of outdoor working and will be based within a waste and recycling environment. Appropriate PPE will be provided, and the successful candidate must be comfortable working in a practical industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the site stores function on a day-to-day basis
• Issuing and signing out PPE, tools, parts, and engineering spares to team members
• Maintaining accurate records using the company’s booking and logging systems
• Monitoring stock levels and reporting when items need reordering
• Ensuring storage areas are clean, organised, and well managed
• Supporting site housekeeping standards across all departments
• Working with each department to keep work areas clean, safe, and tidy
• Managing site skips and wheelie bins, including ensuring waste is handled correctly
• Assisting with yard cleaning and general upkeep of external site areas
• Supporting wider site organisation and operational discipline as required
• Helping to develop and improve the stores department during a period of business growth

Skills and Experience Required

• Good general IT and computer literacy
• Ability to use company booking, stock control, and logging systems accurately
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A practical, hands-on approach to work
• Ability to work well with different teams across the site
• A positive attitude and willingness to take ownership of the role
• Good understanding of workplace cleanliness, order, and housekeeping standards
• Comfortable working outdoors and in an industrial recycling environment

Desirable

• An in-date forklift truck licence
• Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, yard, or site facilities role
• Experience working in a waste, recycling, manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment

What We Offer

• Salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum for the right person
• Monday to Friday working hours of 08:00 to 16:30
