Stonehouse Group Hiring for Financial Accountant at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Full Time

About the Role

As part of our organisation’s growth strategy, we are looking for a hands-on accountant to join our team and play a key role in our business. You will own the organisation’s accounting function, from the day-to-day up to high-end strategic business input and process improvements. 

You will be joining a well-established business that is growing and taking its operations to the next level in the Financial Services industry. Our head office is based in the Brisbane CBD, but we offer the opportunity for a hybrid role (work from home) for the successful candidate. 

Key Accountabilities

• Management of the organisation’s financial transactions
• Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, company credit card facilities, and recording of expenditure
• Cashflow forecasting and ing
• Preparation of monthly financial statements, quarterly financial requirements for our AFSL, and annual financial statements.
• Full fortnightly payroll management, including superannuation, and bonus calculations
• BAS & IAS preparation, payroll tax, and superannuation obligations, including STP lodgements 
• Lodgment of the organisation’s tax returns
• Inter-entity loans, loan agreements, and service fee agreements
• Preparing and providing documentation for audit purposes
• Adhoc project work to assist the business
• Contribute to the improvement of Stonehouse’s efficiency and the consistency of our processes

Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrated experience in a Business Accountant role (4 years experience a minimum),
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting and/or Commerce
• Be a registered Tax agent, or meet the requirements to do so 
• Experience with multiple entity business groups
• Demonstrated experience with GST, BAS & IAS preparation
• Highly proficient in using Xero and Hubdoc 
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
• Can work well in a team environment and be independently motivated
• Good time management and prioritisation skills;
• Demonstrated application of critical thinking skills & problem-solving skills
• CA/CPA qualified (desirable)
• Knowledge of the financial planning industry (desirable)
