Stone Recruitment Hiring for Financial Controller at Greater Sydney Area Full Time

This successful Australian owned and run industrial business is currently in need of a proactive and hands on Financial Controller. While we are looking for someone to take ownership of month end and compliance in this role, we are also looking for someone prepared to look beyond the numbers and provide strategic planning in order to support the business as it plans for future growth. The position is based in Strathfield South at the heart of operations in their busy head office.

This integral role plays a key role in supporting the business owners and will be managing the day to day finance needs of the business, duties will include;

  • Lead the month end process including reconciliations, business metrics and preparation of financial s
  • Manage the Accounts Officer and provide them direction and oversight of accounts receivable and payables
  • Prepare and on budgets and forecasts
  • Manage payroll, taxation and statutory obligations including GST, PAYG, Superannuation, and Workcover
  • Approve new credit applications and manage PPSR
  • Stock recompilations
  • End to end payroll
  • Manage yearly insurance renewal pack
  • Proactively perform analysis to inform strategy and aid decision making

To be successful we want you to come with relevant accounting experience where you were ideally managing the full cycle of accounts, and possess suitable tertiary qualifications (Accounting, Business, Commerce etc). Also expected for a role like this is strong excel skills, a proven ability to work to deadlines and excellent communication skills. We aren’t fussed on what industry background you have though as most importantly you will be open to learn, proactive and take a hands on in approach to your work.
