The role

We are seeking an experienced, and vigorous Finance and Business Editor with hands-on writing experience to join our content team.

Our candidate is a mid-level editor and writer, who can coordinate all aspects of a project, fact check, quality control, insist on consistency, and have an eye for effective titling.

This role is ideal for a creative individual with a discerning eye and passion for writing and editing financial and business content. You’ll actively be curating financial content, reviewing articles and reports, liaising with the client service team around sponsored content needs, spearheading trending topic direction among the team and when needed, be writing analytical business articles.

Primary Accountabilities

• Ability to edit with a sharp eye for errors, comparing press releases with editorial and understanding the proper context
• Writing and coaching the team on effective titling with our SEO outline as guidance
• Reviewing stats to decipher an effective content strategy with our investor audience
• Write targeted, compelling and high-quality content
• Able to detect a cohesive narrative and tone in the work
• Identifying topics that are important to various investor audiences and finding original ways of creating content that provides value
• Assisting in new product launches from concept through to finalization
• Working closely and effectively with other departments to communicate ideas, thoughts and strategies regarding content.
• Ensure that sponsored content from the Client Services department is delivered on deadline and with agreed upon outlines met
• Coordinate with Client Service manager on sponsored content products and strategies
• Researching and collecting information from multiple sources to the point where you become a subject matter expert

Qualifications, Technical skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business & Finance, English or related field
• 3+ years of experience in an editor role
• Experience in copywriting / headline writing
• Experience managing a teams content strategy
• Nice to have: experience with WordPress; SEO knowledge; and Passion for the stock market, and investing

This is a full-time (Mon-Fri) role. Remote / Hybrid option is a possibility based on location.
