Steve Madden Hiring for PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER at Long Island City, New York Full Time

We are looking to expand our team with the right person, who will work with both media and stylist, as well as assist with influencer initiatives on behalf of Steve Madden and Dolce Vita.

Day to day account management for Steve Madden and Dolce Vita with responsibilities to include:

• The Public Relations Manager is responsible for securing coverage in national and regional media across print, digital, broadcast, and podcast verticals for all product categories (men’s, women’s, kids, etc.) for Steve Madden and Dolce Vita as well as supporting the larger Marketing/Creative department to achieve the overall positioning and image goals of the brand
• Oversee PR sample trafficking for all categories with national and regional outlets
• Manage the Public Relations Assistant
• Support Senior Public Relations Manager with feature/news story placements and event coverage
• Execute paid features to highlight seasonal product priorities
• Create and maintain relationships with editors, stylists and influencers
• Coordinate partnerships with local agencies for events and special projects
• Oversee monthly print and digital reports as well as recaps of coverage, product launches and events
• Proactively outreach to key publications and editors to make sure Steve Madden and Dolce Vita is top of mind
• Provide thoughtful insight and feedback for all branded deliverables (i.e. proofreading, fact-checking, competitive research, etc.)
• Update the Senior Public Relations Manager on relevant sample or upcoming credit issues
• Oversee the day-to-day sample trafficking done by the Assistant
• Create pitches on timely news and proactively outreach to obtain press coverage based on Product Marketing pushes
• Liaise with merchandising and e-commerce teams to ensure alignment across men’s and women’s priorities and initiatives
• Create PR materials, including press releases, bios, media alerts, pitches and other documents; edit writing and other assignments tasked to junior-level staffers; conduct background research as needed to deliver accurate media-ready assets.

Experience and Skills:

• 4-6+ years Public Relations and Influencer Relations experience
• Strong (written and verbal) communications skills
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized
• Can foresee problems and takes actions to prevent them
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• A self-starter who can work both independently and in a high energy, team-oriented atmosphere
• Established relationships with media contacts in the Fashion and Accessory space
• Proven track record of market and feature placements
• Knowledge of media and influencer platforms (Critical Mention, Fohr, IMDBpro etc.)
• A strong interest and finger on the pulse in all things from pop culture to current events
• You are a game changer; think outside the box; get the job done; always go above and beyond the expected.
