Full Spectrum GL Accountant

Upbeat, personable, experienced accountant needed to work with our team of accountants serving multiple companies. Applicant will have the full spectrum of responsibility for one of the companies that is dynamic and growing quickly. Will handle all bookkeeping plus higher level accounting.

Skills needed:

AP – processed through both checks and ACH, including maintaining good relationships with vendors.

AR – processed through both checks and ACH, including maintaining good relationships with clients, including invoicing (making sure that billing is according to contract for each specific customer – terms are not all the same).

GL – tracking assets and liabilities in addition to revenue and expense, ability to prepare and understand balance sheets and income statements. Prepare for and coordinate with auditors for annual audit.

PR – collect, monitor for accuracy, and submit payroll information to payroll company for processing.

Reporting – will need to prepare reports for both internal and external audiences.

Will report to Controller, but needs to be able to work mostly independently. Other accounting team members will provide training and ongoing support, but it is expected that this one company will be your responsibility. Although the accounting team is in Watsonville, the operation is spread across multiple states with important management/operational team members in remote locations, thus being willing and able to communicate effectively via email and telephone is a must.

Experience needed – enough time in the accounting field to have steady growth of proficiency in the required skills detailed above – 3 year minimum. Degree is not required if you have developed the skill required without formal training.

Salary Range – $45,000 to $60,000 DOE
