The Process Engineer, Packaging Development is an important resource to STEMCELL Process Development. In this position, you will ensure product labels are accurate, provide technical packaging expertise, design new packaging solutions, and qualify packaging and shipping conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities
Identify, review and evaluate new packaging technology for application to current and future product designs.
Collaborate with and/or support supplier quality engineering and managing packaging process validations with external packaging and packaging component suppliers.
Participates in development of risk analysis associated with packaging design, shipping and associated processes.
Documents all packaging and labeling design, development, and testing to comply with external standards, guidance documents and regulations.
Performs conceptual analysis of new packaging proposals, feasibility analysis, scope of work, budgetary estimate, impact on available equipment and implementation plans.
Provides expert technical support to Procurement towards the evaluation of alternative packaging material suppliers.
Source or design, evaluate and recommend sustainable packaging and shipping materials.
Develops or sources packaging testing methods, performs or directs test method validations and trains others to use these methods as required.
Coordination and communication of packaging technology and designs with project teams and management staff as part of project management and design control activities.
Validation of new or modified packaging designs to appropriate and current regulatory standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, manufacturing and distribution staff to design, specify, implement and validate equipment and processes required to support the packaging and shipping processes.
Work directly with outside suppliers to develop optimal package designs and/or components.
Responsible for entering and maintaining label and packaging data specifications in SAP.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 1 to 3 years of industrial experience.
Experience with ISO 13485/9001 Quality Management System and current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).
Working knowledge of recognized packaging standards and guidance documents.
Knowledge of FDA design control regulations.
Strong technical writing ability.
Effectively manage multiple priorities with high quality expectations in a cross-functional, team-based environment.
Must be highly motivated, have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, be highly independent, and have effective organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
