About The Company:

Stellar Recruitment have partnered with a major Australian manufacturing and export business to appoint a General Manager of Engineering. Not only is this organisation one of Australia’s largest manufacturers and exporters, but they are also market leaders when it comes to renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.

Whilst the assets and various business units are performing very well, they have identified that their engineering function is an area requiring an individual at this level. The General Manager of Engineering is a newly created position and will initially be responsible for integrating the capital projects and maintenance functions across all assets.

About The Role:

Given this role is at the General Manager level it encompasses a great deal but these are the crucial aspects.

• Engineering management: Complete responsibility for engineering and execution across all assets.
• Overseeing the capital projects and maintenance functions: A newly created structure integrating two separate business units.
• People management: Overseeing large, multi-discipline teams involved in the operations both directly and indirectly.
• Process improvement: As this is a new role there is scope to define and implement modernised systems and procedures.

The position is based in regional Queensland, not South-East Queensland, so relocation assistance will be offered if required.

What We Are Looking For:

There is no ‘one right fit’ for this role – we believe the ideal candidate will be someone who has come from a manufacturing or production background within a heavy industrial environment. This is broad as we understand different industries provides innovative ideas and can introduce new ways of thinking.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering of a relevant discipline. We are open to this provided your career demonstrates oversight of multi-discipline teams.
• Major capital project delivery experience in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance processes in a manufacturing or production business.
• Outcome driven individual with a can do attitude supported by high-level leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• An approachable leader who prioritises remaining visible in the field and setting the standards.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a crucial hire for our client’s ongoing success and the salary package will therefore reflect that. We are happy to discuss what might be possible, including how the salary package and benefits are structured at the early stage of the process. At this stage, we are forecasting a figure of circa $300,000 plus super, bonuses, relocation assistance and vehicle options.
