The Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School is a beautiful, well-established K-12 co-educational, non-denominational Steiner school situated in the outer eastern suburb of Warranwood, Victoria on 30 acres of bushland.

In this natural, idyllic environment, we have a growing Early Childhood Faculty for 3-6-year olds, facilitated by enthusiastic, creative and flexible teachers.

The School is seeking to appoint a Kindergarten Co-Educator for a mixed age group of children. The successful applicant will be available to commence in Term 1, 2023.

We are looking for a joyful, flexible and enthusiastic person who loves children and is deeply interested in the domestic activity surrounding early childhood such as cooking, gardening, music, storytelling and handcrafts. Someone who is interested in Anthroposophy and ongoing self-development and has knowledge of Steiner education.

Ideally the person will have prior experience in a Steiner Early Childhood Environment and/or early childhood training in Steiner education.

The co-educator has an integral role to play in the Kindergarten program and is a valued team member. Not only is the co-educator a support for the teacher but, due to the nature of the work, he or she is a role model for the children.

A key component of their day is the preparation and care of food and its consumption.

Qualifications:

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
• Current First Aid Certificate (including HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting)
• Current First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate
• Food Safety Handling Certificate as a minimum and willingness to complete a Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
