Position Details*

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week (OT available)
• Location: NE, Calgary

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance for all Machining Equipment
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance activities, following manufacturers and internal instructions as required
• Ability to use electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, infrared scanning equipment and other tools as necessary for servicing applicable equipment
• Identify opportunities to improve existing PM schedules and suggest appropriate changes as equipment ages, new technology is introduced, or as part of continuous improvement initiatives
• Support with scheduling PM, reading reports, diagrams, and drawings
• Updating and maintaining information within our maintenance software
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts for all machines to minimize downtime

• Trouble Shoot Machine problems
• Identify root cause of equipment related issues and incorporate potential prevention measures as part of the PM schedule
• Maintain Log of issues, resolutions and completed work orders
• Train support staff within the manufacturing departments on reoccurring issues to minimize downtime

• Coordinate with Machine’s Vendor service as applicable
• Identify issues that cannot be resolved by internal resources and coordinate with alternative service providers to have these issues resolved
• Communicate accurately, concisely, and professionally with colleagues, vendors, and contractors as to important steps taken, parts needed to be ordered, and time estimated until completion

• Other duties and responsibilities

• Identify / report hazards and fulfill all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, and company policy requirements
• While the job may primarily be during the day, working later in the day/evening and/or on weekends might be required depending on the urgency of the repair
• Availability to travel between Calgary facilities for emergency repairs
• Cleans and maintains work areas and shop equipment

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• High School Diploma, GED and 3-5 years equivalent directly transferrable work experience (Manufacturing or Engineering discipline preferred)
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program
• Formal training or 2+ years of ventilation system maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems under 3000psi
• Experience with air compressors, and compressed air systems

• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings (e.g., blueprints, manuals, wiring diagrams etc.)
• Exhibit good time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow throughout the day
• Strong verbal and written English language communication skills.
• ‘Hands-on self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to lift, up to 23 kg (50 lbs.)
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation

Employment Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Proper safety precautions, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), must be followed as dictated by the job and work environment
