Full Job Description
This Position is located at District One: Lexington Maintenance
- Operates backhoe when installing driveways, sideline and cross line pipes and cleaning out drainage ditches. Ensures ditch line will drain according to design. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and keep record of same. Be safety cautious at all times and ensures area is dressed before leaving job site.
- Operates large motorgrader to machine approximately 20 miles of earth roads out of the Pelion section shed. Maintains outfall ditch line so that water can leave the raodway and ensure that driveways are passable. Maintains preventative maintenance on equipment and keep record of same.
- Operates 5 – 10 yard dump trucks hauling material and equipment as needed for drainage projects and driveway installations. Using hand tools to dress area and lay pipe.
- Operates heavy equipment and power tools as needed for hazardous weather operations. Operates motorgrader during snow and ice sotrms to clear roadways.
- Flags traffic and erect work zone signs and other traffic control devices according to the SC Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- Performs duties in crew engaged in the installation of sideline and crossline pipe. Installs driveways with or without pipe.
One (1) year of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
