Position Summary
The Customer Service Representative 3 (CSR 3) is responsible for establishing a professional image of State Bank of Chilton. The CSR 3 will greet customers in a courteous manner while building relationships to deliver exceptional customer service. Responsible for accurately servicing the customers’ needs by providing assistance with bank accounts, processing transactions efficiently, and identifying the customer’s needs. The CSR 3 will maintain and accurately balance a cash drawer. The CSR 3 will maintain knowledge of bank products to assist and exceed the needs of customers.
Job Description
* Greet and acknowledge customers by first name whenever possible.
* Maintain proper cash levels and keep cash secure at all times. Accurately balance drawer.
* Assist customer with cashing or depositing checks, while verifying amounts, examine for endorsement, verify dates, names, identification and legality of the document.
* Accept and process customers deposits, loan payments, cash advances and counting coin. Ensure proper Customer Identification (CIP) and Bank Secrecy (BSA) procedures are followed.
* Assist customers with account inquiries in person and by phone.
* Occasionally assist with closing accounts.
* Prepare cashiers checks for customers
* Handle coin which requires bending and lifting
* Assist customers with opening new accounts for individuals, businesses, organizations and clubs following all regulations and policies. This includes checking, savings, money markets and certificated of deposits as well as IRA’s, HSA’s and trust accounts.
* Effectively explains products, policies and regulations to customers while obtaining documentation for new accounts for the USA Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Affairs, Customer Identification Program and Beneficial Owners Form.
* Answer phones
* Verify, log and complete night deposits and mail.
* Order checks and deposit slips for customers.
* Complete basic account change forms such as address change, stop pay, travel notifications and transfer management.
* Research information regarding balances, interest earned for customers, attorneys, accountants, funeral directors and other financial institutions and government agencies.
* Assist customers with online banking, phone banking and mobile banking
* Work with customers on death and beneficiary accounts while showing compassion and empathy. At times, this may include working with families’ legal teams.
* Knowledge of State Bank of Chilton’s depository and loan products, online banking, phone banking and mobile banking to promote and cross sell.
* Reconcile internal bank accounts
* Assigned and actively assisting operational teams within the bank.
* Proficiently execute maintenance for customers
* After 1 year of service or prior financial experience, balance vault and coin machine ensuring adherence to vault policy and procedure guidelines.
* After 1 year of service or prior financial experience, buy and sell from vault for CSR’s
* Actively work with all employees and offices so the customers’ needs are met.
* Assist with supervising CSR’s when the Branch Manager or Customer Service Officer or Supervisor is out of the office and there is an absence of another Officer in the Branch. Including but not limited to training, assigning or directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems while working with Human Resources or the Executive Vice President and adhering to the organizations policies and applicable laws.
* Maintain comprehensive and up to date knowledge of banking rules and regulations related to the position.
* Follow bank procedures, abide by banking regulations and actively be alert for potential security issues.
* Perform other duties as assigned and needed.

Working Conditions
Work is performed largely in a pleasant office environment; however, a good deal of time will be spent standing at a CSR window, working on a computer. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours at each office with an average of 38 to 40 hours a week for full time, part time will vary according to schedules made by the supervisor. There will be some lifting of coin, approximately 50 pounds maximum, for the position.
