The Opportunity 

ing to the Commercial Sales Director, the Brand Ambassador will be the ‘face’ of the brand in our VIC, SA, WA and TAS markets and responsible for trade engagement through events and tastings. This role will be pivotal in driving visibility and rate of sale to ensure Starward is the most talked about Whisky brand in Australian Trade. 

You will utilise your dynamic presenting ability, time management and planning skills and passion for whisky and spirits to build and maintain key relationships with influencers in trade and increase the distribution, visibility, and rate of sale through activation in national events. This role is a great mix of traditional advocacy and driving sales. 

Working within the Commercial Sales Team as well as the broader business key responsibilities will include:

• Build and maintain key relationships with key on and off trade venues in VIC, SA, WA and TAS.
• Increase distribution, visibility, and rate of sale through activations in key venues across VIC, SA, WA and TAS.
• Identifying new opportunities through cold calling and building rapport.
• Drive Starward knowledge, in both brand story and technical detail to provide bartenders and sommelier’s more confidence to talk about the brand.
• Engage and educate groups through distillery visits and in trade with key influencers. 
• Work with marketing on key consumer and trade activations creating whisky drink solutions.
• Create key food led event collaborations with key restaurants in line with brand strategy.
• Drive Starward drinks strategy through menu activation in the on trade.

The successful candidate will have the ability to present to large groups in an engaging manner highlighted by in-depth knowledge of whisky and overall spirit knowledge. Having strong time management and planning skills will be essential in this role, including a proactive, positive, and self-motivated attitude. 

The Brand Ambassador will have the skills to create a cocktail menu through understanding flavour balance and matching. High level bartending and cocktail experience in an influential venue will be highly regarded. 

Previous experience in selling craft or premium brands will also be desirable.

A current RSA and valid driver’s license will be required.
