Project Manager

Rail Equipment – Engineering/Construction

UK leading company who supply & maintain Rail & Tram Wash Equipment worldwide, are seeking a Project Manager based form their Croydon offices to manage the delivery of specialist equipment from initial design to completion.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Understand the customers’ requirements/time scales including maintenance plans
• Schedule the design of the project
• Produce a detailed project plan to include project and payment milestones and communicate to the line manager and Sales Project Administrator
• Maintain a record of purchase order requests and keep detailed costs against the project
• Report on deviation from project and payment milestones and project costs
• Liaison with client to agree amendments to preliminary design and prepare and submit documentation for final design review in line with approved format
• Instruct Project Installation Manager to procure, place orders for specific items required for project
• Arrange with the PIM dispatch of equipment to site
• Communicate with the customer to agree final installation dates of equipment and ensure that access is available to work areas
• Instruct SPA to make necessary travel and accommodation requirements for all departmental employees.
• Receive project support documentation and issue to customer, i.e. work package plans, (SAT) site acceptance tests, PICO (post inspection check out), training guidance, installation risk assessments and co-ordination of lifting plans
• To adhere to all health and safety and ISO procedures as outlined in the company’s procedures.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• A proven record of managing commercial engineering projects from beginning to end
• Installations and service of equipment to budget/time scales from initial design to completion
• Ability to travel to projects both overseas and UK in accordance with project requirements
• Intermediate knowledge and working experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and Project
• Demonstrated evidence of working under pressure to stringent deadlines
• Negotiating and agreeing terms with suppliers
• Ability to communication effectively at all levels
• Ability to use CAD software
• Understanding of civil drawings

Desirable:

• Worked within the Rail industry
• Knowledge of working on overseas projects
• Engineering or Construction degree

REMUNERATION:

• £28-35,000 salary
• Expenses for overseas travel
• Bonus scheme
• Healthcare, pension and benefits scheme
• Monday to Friday
• 28 days rising to 33 days holiday (inc Bank Holidays)
