Stantec Looking for Senior / Principal Bridge Engineer at Birmingham, West Midlands (County) Full Time

Stantec is seeking to recruit a Principal Bridge Engineer in Birmingham or Reading. This is a great opportunity to join a busy and ambitious group with a strong forward workload. Our team in the Midlands are part of a strong bridges and civil structures capability across the UK with a significant pool of expertise and experience working across a wide variety of projects.

You will focus on technical lead and delivery of highway bridges, as well as other civil structures projects, varying in size and complexity both regionally and nationally.

You will lead junior staff members and provide technical support to the Associates and Director, ensuring successful delivery of projects to timescale and budget. You will liaise with the internal and external clients and design teams on projects and be involved in the delivery and management of successful and timely outcomes.

The trend in project work undertaken is moving towards larger, multidisciplinary projects with ample opportunity for collaboration with various teams across the UK.  As we continue to grow, this will provide opportunities for both – us as a business, but also you personally.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Engineer with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, with excellent technical knowledge and capability in design, assessment and construction of bridges and civil structures. You’ll ideally be close to achieving chartered status with ICE and/ or IStructE.

You’ll have project management knowledge covering a complete project life cycle from project initiation, feasibility study, detailed design and construction. You’ll embrace the opportunity to lead, manage and mentor junior colleagues around you.

You’ll have strong experience of MIDAS and/or LUSAS; Eurocodes, DMRB, and MCHW. You’ll have experience in preparing technical documents e.g., Technical Notes, Approval in Principle documents, Feasibility Study Reports, Assessment Reports, etc.

Experience of liaising with and managing stakeholders, contractors and clients will be important to your success. You’ll have site support/ supervision experience and experience of carrying out and managing all types of structural inspections.
