Stafford-Smith, Inc Hiring for Fabrication Estimator at Arlington, TX Full Time

Stafford-Smith is a nationally recognized leader in the Food Service Equipment industry. We have been providing excellent service to our customers since 1940. Stafford-Smith is a growing business looking for highly motivated individuals to serve on our team as a Full Time Fabrication Estimator.

Estimator: Prepares metal fabrication quotations by analyzing Requests for Quote requirements, technical drawings, and associated specifications.

Skills/Qualifications:

· Extensive metal fabricating blueprint reading and the ability to interpret and analyze specifications and tolerances.

· Proficient in Excel

· Communication skills to interact with Customers, Suppliers, and co-workers.

· Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.

Estimator Job Duties:

· Compute costs by identifying materials, purchased items, fabrication processes and time requirements using Excel and established rate tables per blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

· Work with the Purchasing Department to solicit and collect material costs.

· Work with Engineering Department to identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods.

· Work with Production Department to establish fabrication rates and options for fabrication methods.

· Maintain metrics related to quality and timeliness of estimates supplied to customers and win / loss ratio of estimates submitted.

· Review and recommend updates to work center rates and rate tables.

· Regularly review Job Costings to establish accuracy of estimates and estimating process.

· Solicit feedback from Production to improve estimating accuracy.

· Prepare special s by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

· Regular interaction and communication with General Manager, Shop Floor Manager, CAD Department and Office Manager to facilitate duties listed above.

Education and/or Experience:

o Bachelor or Associate degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
