St HOPE Leadership Academy Charter School (SHLA) is seeking an Assistant Principal to lead our team of talented, driven teachers for the 2022-2023 school year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement schoolwide initiatives to ensure high levels of scholar academic achievement in all content areas including schoolwide collection and analysis of scholar academic data.

• Design and implement a comprehensive plan for teacher development (including teacher observation and feedback) aligned to the Danielson rubric and Leaders of Their Own Learning. This includes the ability to model effective instruction across content areas and grow teacher instructional abilities.

• Design and implement a strong horizontal curriculum across content areas with the goal of preparing our scholars for the rigors of high school

• Work in partnership with the school’s Leadership Team to ensure that all aspects of the school operate at a high level, including but not limited to family and community relations, scholar enrichment activities, state compliance, school safety, school culture and environment, and school operations.

• Act as the agent of the school’s principal in her absence.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education

• Eligibility for New York State certification in School Building Leadership preferred (candidates currently enrolled in a program will be considered)

• Five years of successful teaching experience including working with students with disabilities

• Deep knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment and their relationship to the school’s mission and goals

• Ability to work as part of a high-performing team, including exceptional communication and organizational skills

• Experience leading projects and working collaboratively with colleagues (experience directly managing staff preferred)

• Desire to work in a middle school

• Demonstrated belief that all children deserve an excellent education

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $113,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
We follow CDC guidelines. Masks are required in the building. Air cleaners are in every classroom, hallway and office. We conduct random Covid testing on a weekly basis. All staff members are fully immunized.
