St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School is a single stream co-educational primary school with an enrolment of 220 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our committed and enthusiastic staff work closely together to provide a collaborative and supportive learning environment within our culturally diverse community.
The St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School community is seeking a Physical Education Teacher to deliver the curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities for our students. This position will suit a formally qualified, vibrant and enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to working in a strong team to meet the individual needs of our students.

Education.
* Have a comprehensive knowledge of current educational theories and practices, demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning as a dynamic, innovative and reflective Physical Education practitioner.
* Ability to analyse and use data to inform teaching and learning practices to raise student levels of achievement.
* Uses a variety of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.
* Have experience in leading learning of fundamental movement skills.
* An innovative educator who has demonstrated their commitment to the role by implementing opportunities for student learning through extra-curricular activities both before and after school.
Community.
* An inclusive teacher who is able to support students with diverse learning, social and cultural needs through the constant promotion of safety and wellbeing.
* An exceptional communicator who is able to grow their students by facilitating engagement opportunities to promote the Physical Education learning area and the school.
* Exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the community and create critical partnerships.
Stewardship.
* Lead extra-curricular activities to deepen the learning experience in the area of Physical Education and wellbeing.
* Organise and lead carnivals and events in partnership with colleagues and families.
* Outstanding communication skills with a strong focus on the delivery of information and clarity for all.
* An individual who can drive initiatives ensuring the accessibility, affordability, sustainability and growth of our students, and can celebrate and promote the achievement of excellence and inclusion within our culturally diverse community.
Qualifications Required:
Applicants must have as a minimum of the following qualifications:
* Relevant 4 Year Tertiary Teaching Qualification.
* Applicants who are not qualified teachers are still encouraged to apply.
Applicants must submit via email a cover letter addressed to the Principal, providing a maximum two page statement addressing the selection criteria, and their curriculum vitae including the names and contact numbers of three referees, one of whom must be the current employer. A current National Police Clearance/100 Point Identification Check must also be included. The appropriate Criminal History Record Check form is available from the Department of Education and Training website (www.det.wa.edu.au).
