St. Francis School is a Preschool – 12th grade, co-ed, non-denominational, Independent School founded in the Progressive tradition that is committed to equity and justice and located on two campuses in Louisville and Goshen, Kentucky. St. Francis School seeks a Director of The Learning Center (TLC), who will work on both campuses and report to the Head of School.

This position will oversee all the support services that the TLC provides, including reading and writing remediation, content tutoring, speech and occupational therapy, and standardized test prep, as well as after-school Homework Hall and summer remediation/academic support-related camps/programs. This position also manages TLC student enrollment, service recommendations, and financial aid; oversees TLC staffing, including full-time staff, tutors, and contractors; collaborates with teachers to ensure integration of support with SFS classroom work, keeping in mind what is best for the whole child; collaborates with administration to ensure appropriate services are being offered; serves as an advisor to the Admissions Committee for students with learning differences and/or psycho-educational evaluations; creates and updates all student accommodation plans; and provides professional development to faculty on how to differentiate learning for students with diagnoses and accommodation plans.

We seek candidates who are passionate, energetic, and outgoing; possess outstanding interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; enjoy working collaboratively; and have an interest in developing and practicing cultural competence.

At minimum, an M.A. (or Ph.D.) in special education or psychology, 10 years’ experience in education and/or psychology, and 5 years’ experience in an administrative role are required. A background in gifted education is also a plus.’
