ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant is responsible for the creation, preparation and analysis of the monthly financial reports including value-add commentary. They will be the driver of efficiencies and cost savings, playing a key role in the budget preparation and monitoring process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Month-end preparation and reporting – to HQ

• Managing the general ledger (in conjunction with the Financial Accountant) including the monthly balance sheet reconciliations including provisions and inter-company reconciliations
• Reporting to Switzerland via the consolidation platform

Month-end preparation and reporting – internal

• Gross margin analysis across all profit centres
• Creation, preparation of monthly financial reports covering profit and loss by profit/cost centre and internal management reports including detailed commentary/variance analysis
• Driving change management and efficiencies in opex control
• Regular meetings with the budget owners to drive discussion on opex improvement

Budgeting

• A key role in preparing elements of the budget for each of the brands
• Being a key contact for the profit/cost centre heads
• Preparation and ownership of the budget template files

Finance project implementation and Internal Control

• Taking the lead on implementation of finance projects led by HQ e.g. f.13 usage, POSM inventorisation, Salesforce for wholesale etc.
• Working cross-departmentally to liaise roll out of projects with key stakeholders
• Develop a deep understanding of the end-to-end processes of the organisation and the key controls required, to meet LVMH obligations and stated risk appetite settings
• Documenting and testing internal controls for design and operating effectiveness in accordance with the risk framework
• Being the key contact and owner of ERICA requirements
• Proactive identification and support of continuous improvement initiatives

Ad-hoc

• To assist other members of the finance team as well as the Business Planning Analyst in preparing ad-hoc financial data (c.10% of your weekly commitment)
• Stock maintenance in SAP – product, reference and price etc.

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Commerce, Business or Finance
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Finance role
• Ideally prior experience in wholesale or retail industry
• Very strong attention to detail
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Highly self-motivated with an intrinsic desire to strive for excellence; shows initiative and wants to keep raising the bar
• Able to be an efficient business partner with internal and external stakeholders
• A track record of commitment to and successful delivery of high-quality outputs within strict deadlines (organizational and time management skills)
• Able to work independently and flexibly to accommodate changing business needs
• In depth technical knowledge of (and ability to source) Australian Accounting Standards is a plus
• Good team player
• Strong ability to solve problems, offer solutions and make decisions
• Strong integrity and values
• High proficiency in MS Excel is a must
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification (or equivalent) is an advantage
