Spring Hill Christian Academy is hiring for a Second Grade Teacher. Spring Hill Christian Academy is a 350 student K3-12 Christian school in the Nature Coast of Florida that has served the students and families of Hernando County for 25 years. Our consistently “at capacity” enrollment is a testament to the strong relationships between our teachers, students, and parents. Our typical classroom size of 16 students will allow you to work with each student individually. We are an active member of the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools.

Second Grade Teacher Responsibilities:

The teacher will help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God. The teacher will instruct in all subjects assigned in the designated grade, adhering to the course instruction as prescribed in the Curriculum Guide. The teacher will integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities. The teacher will keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises and follow prescribed school policy for discipline procedures. The teacher will employ a variety of instructional aides, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional. The teacher should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Database software. Ability to use technology in lesson plans, such as projector, Chromebooks, and online videos.

Second Grade Teacher Required Experience: minimum of one year of elementary classroom instruction.

Second Grade Teacher Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or have obtained a Bachelor’s degree that includes 18 semester credit hours in education.

Pay: $25,000.00 – $27,000.00 per year
