SPIRE Credit Union is seeking a Director of Accounting to join our fast growing organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely preparation and presentation of financial management reports including internal and external financial statements, audits and budgets. The Director of Accounting is also responsible for the day to day operations of the Accounting functions. This position offers hybrid flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Accounting staff
  • Prepare and review financial statements
  • Oversee the daily and monthly production of all accounting records and postings
  • Report on balance sheet growth, income, expenses, earnings
  • Participate in several strategic committees relating to Accounting
  • Play an integral part in the annual budgeting process
  • Develop and monitor system integrity and controls
  • Review policies and procedures related to department risk management
  • Handle Accounting relating changes attributed to business combinations/mergers

Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred (but will sponsor)
  • 5+ progressive years in a financial organization
  • Extensive software knowledge such as Jack Henry and Fiserv products,
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word

  • Leadership and management skills
