As a key member of the executive team of Spectrum Retirement Communities, the SVP of Finance and Accounting (SVP, F&A) reports to the President and assumes a strategic role with responsibility for directing the fiscal functions of the company and various entities utilizing financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory and advisory organizations.
Position is located at Headquarters in Denver, CO (not remote)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The SVP, F&A primary day-to-day responsibilities include planning, implementing, managing, reporting, and controlling all financial activities of the company. This will include the development of a financial and operational strategy, key indicator metrics, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to improve efficiencies, preserve company assets and report timely and accurate financial results. The SVP, F&A is responsible for complex operating and ownership accounting and is responsible for overseeing accounting and finance at the Community and Corporate levels.
The SVP, F&A manages the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly growing company, requiring the expertise and professional judgment to determine when to revise financial policies and procedures, plans and forecasts and how to effectively standardize practices. The SVP, F&A will be responsible for implementing strong financial controls and systems with the flexibility to scale to rapidly expanding business opportunities.
The successful SVP, F&A candidate is an experienced and proactive leader that develops a deep understanding of the processes and systems within finance and accounting and how they connect to the organization as a whole. The SVP, F&A has strong communication skills and the ability to work with the various departments that comprise Spectrum in order to understand their needs and foster the necessary financial and accounting support to enable and empower the management of the departments and the company as a whole. The ideal candidate works well leading multiple projects/activities simultaneously and applies advanced financial knowledge and tools to propose, direct, and integrate solutions to organizational problems and opportunities. The successful candidate demonstrates the discipline and systems-orientation of a successful established company, coupled with the creativity and nimbleness of an entrepreneurial venture.
Currently the SVP, Finance and Accounting will lead a team of financial professionals with [6+] Direct Reports and a total of [45-50] team members.
