Spectrum of Hope (“SOH”) is a provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (“ABA”) therapy to clients with autism spectrum disorder. SOH provides services in northwest Houston, Texas in its five treatment facilities. The Company has several programs designed specifically to meet the therapy needs of our clients through our high-quality clinical personnel. The Company was founded over fifteen years ago and is headquartered in Houston, TX.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the position of Payroll Administrator ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state wage and hour laws, rules, and regulations for Texas and Florida. The Payroll Administrator is directly responsible for processing payroll for all W-2 employees and 1099 contractors on a bi-weekly schedule. In addition, the position maintains a proactive collaborative interface with other staff and operating departments to ensure the organization is optimizing its policies, procedures and processes in support of all payroll practices and activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Track and input all payroll deductions and reimbursements on a timely basis
• Process payroll authorizations and update employee rate and/or title changes in system for the correct pay period
• Maintain correct program/building and start/term dates for employees
• Review employee timecards and follow-up with supervisors regarding any missed punches, pending time off requests, or missing approvals
• Track missing benefit payments for employees who miss a pay period and send a list of those who did not work the current pay period to HR
• Input employee mileage and process other expense reimbursements
• Compile a list of those using FFCRA for the current pay period, confirm they have hours available, and send the list to HR for verification
• Approve and send payroll to third party payroll vendor on a weekly basis
• Distribute any paper checks to employees on payday
• Pay IRA contributions invoice on a biweekly basis
• Review the monthly benefit invoices, note any discrepancies, and coordinate with HR to ensure all benefit deductions are accurate
• Coordinate receipt of hard copy W-2s from Paylocity and distribute to employees
• Complete annual workers compensation audit

. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or business
• Minimum three to five (3 – 5) years of payroll experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products
• Experience with implementation of a payroll system / HRIS a plus, specifically knowledge of Paylocity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must pass background screening
