Student Services are recruiting a Specialist Study Skills Manager to lead and develop our specialist study skills provision for students with specific learning differences or autism.
The postholder will manage and support a team of Specialist Study Skills Tutors and Specialist Study Skills and Inclusive Practice Tutors, ensuring students access high quality specialist teaching through a blend of one-to-one support, group sessions, workshops and online delivery across the University.
You will play a leading role in developing inclusive approaches to curriculum design, teaching and learning, working collaboratively with academic colleagues and professional services to embed evidence informed inclusive practice. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain a small caseload of students, supporting them to develop strategies that remove barriers to learning and promote academic progression.
We are a supportive and collaborative service and are looking for an experienced practitioner with strong leadership skills, a commitment to inclusive education, and a passion for improving outcomes for disabled students. You will have relevant professional qualifications and experience of managing teams in a higher education or related setting, as well as a strong understanding of the legal and sector context for disability support.
The role sits within our Access and Inclusion team, part of the wider Student Services directorate, and is based across our City Centre and Headingley campuses.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Andy Withey, Head of Student Access and Inclusion, either by email (a.withey@leedsbeckett.ac.uk) or phone (0113 812 3349).
