Librarian – Nonprofit Lending Library, Anchorage, Alaska

SESA Librarian

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a nonprofit lending library. Ensure patrons have ease of access to library materials and provide efficient internal and external support for queries of resource need. Duties include organization of library content, updating library database, cataloging new inventory, managing checkout and return of borrowed materials, and assistance to staff and patrons with library related queries and functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned degree in library science or progress towards completion of a degree in library science and related experience.

Responsibilities:

Ø Assist library visitors in conducting research and locating resources.
Ø Organize all library resources so they are easy to locate.
Ø Coordinate and create activities that increase patron awareness of inventory.
Ø Update administrator of library inventory needed.
Ø Identify technology needs and make recommendations.
Ø Assist staff with library related queries.
Ø Research and present on topical issues, e.g., violations of copyright.
Ø Other duties as assigned.
