Position Summary:

This position is responsible for safely, efficiently, and effectively welding Company products on time on a daily basis. The Welder is directly accountable to the Focused Factory Leader for following work orders, work instructions, procedures, and policies; completing required paperwork and documentation; and ensuring that welded products meet required Company quality standards and production schedules. This position is accountable to the Focused Factory Leader for the following outcomes:

• Actively engage with the team members to build and maintain trusting relationships; positively contributing to the safety, quality and on-time of workflow.
• Produce consistent welds and quality of work that align to production standards and schedule
• Effective collaboration with internal team members (Production, Customer service, Engineering, Design) to ensure customer orders are successfully guided to the best possible outcomes.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• High School graduate or equivalent; job related courses
• Minimum 2 years’ industry experience within metal working and welding (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
• A customer-focused individual with demonstrated relationship-building skills
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production drawings
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and internal processes by using standardized work methods
• Clear communication and effective engagement with others that motivates and stretches the individual and team talents to achieve higher levels of competency

• This position requires the employee to work in manufacturing process areas and to deal regularly with schedule and deadline pressures. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and handle materials weighing at least 40 lbs.

Specific Outcomes to be Delivered:

• Health and Safety – Work to ensure safe and healthy working conditions and in compliance with health and safety policies. Promote a health and safety culture.
• Collaboration – Build and sustain collaborative and trusting relationships with all departments within Spec. Actively support the leadership in achieving strategic priorities and executing business plans.
• Day-to-day Production – Ensure the highest level of production by safely operating equipment, perform required fixture setup so that MIG, TIG and brazing operations can be performed. Verify size and dimensions as outlined by work orders and drawings, so that product meets customer expectations. Perform simple routine maintenance of equipment to ensure that it remains operational.
• Time Management – Complete work assignments on schedule; accept overtime and flexible work schedules as required within department or company; participate in cross-training; help/substitute as necessary
• LEAN, Continuous Improvement – Implement and enhance continuous improvement initiatives to improve value stream performance in terms of safety, quality, on-time delivery, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
