The Team / The Business: You will report to the Analytical Manager, Financial Institutions, Sovereign and International Public Finance and be working closely with highly experienced industry specialists.
You will join a very collegial and professional team of analysts that work on credits across the Australia/New Zealand (ANZ) and Pacific region. The role may include exposure to Australian states and sovereign ratings.
Your Skills: Bachelor degree is required, and a Masters or CFA is preferable. You must have a good understanding of the government sector or a background in economics/credit analysis.

In return, you will further enhance your skill sets and sharpen your profile as part of a globally leading organization in fundamental credit research.”
Responsibilities:
Work alongside senior analysts to maintain a portfolio of credit ratings initially focusing on New Zealand local councils, but with opportunities to broaden your expertise into other asset classes such as universities, social housing providers, state governments, and sovereigns, over time.
Collect and critically analyze economic, financial, and budget information.
Maintain complex spreadsheets, databases, and cash flow models.
Meet and confidently interact with mayors, councillors, and senior managers of government organizations such as CEOs and CFOs.
Work closely with senior analysts to prepare materials for rating committees and publications to disseminate our ratings on a timely basis.
Demonstrate service excellence when dealing with external and internal stakeholders.

Strong computer skills, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact confidently with clients.
Strong work ethic and capacity to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and ability to work to deadlines and to multitask.
Familiarity with third-party data providers (such as Bloomberg) and economic statistic databases is beneficial.
