We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Investment Finance team as a Finance Analyst. With offices in Basingstoke, Bristol and Christchurch, we can be flexible on your base location. You’ll share your time between the office and home, as well as some travel being required between our offices.

The Role

Reporting into our Head of Programme Analysis (Investment and commercial), you’ll work together in a small team of Analysts and Modellers providing a wide range of financial review, analysis and reporting services relating to Sovereign’s investment and commercial activity.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Development team with preparing financial appraisals for projects using modelling tools including ProVal, LandVal and Excel
• Analysing the financial implications of projects, providing commentary for senior managers and the Group Investment Committee about the financial implications, focusing on key measures such as IRR, NPV and cost to value
• Running sensitivity and scenario analysis on projects and assessing the viability of potential exit strategies
• Supporting the cycles of management accounting, statutory accounting and programme reporting to the Group Board, the Investment Committee and the Executive Board, ensuring reports are produced accurately and on time
• Supporting the Development team in updating their budgets and forecasts for delivering new homes, sales, and all related financial information

What we’re looking for

Ideally, you’ll be fully qualified with a track record in financial analysis, providing meaningful insights to drive business decisions. It would be beneficial if you have prior knowledge or experience in real estate, property development or from a housing association. You’ll also have:

• Strong technical knowledge and experience in financial accounting, including budgeting and forecasting processes
• Investment appraisal expertise in property or real estate
• A track record of building trusting and credible relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external
• A desire to continually horizon scan in order to drive efficiencies and improvements in existing processes
• Strong IT skills, ideally with experience using real estate appraisal software such as Proval, Pamwin, Sequel, Landval or Argus
• A strong analytical mind with a high attention to detail to ensure your data, insight and recommendations are accurate and reliable
• Experience using PowerBI is desirable
