Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. This person will be assisting the Accounts Payable Manager and Cash Applications Specialist. We process accounts payable transactions and accounts receivable remittances that require posting, scanning, and reconciling daily. Our ideal candidate is a motivated problem-solver who can collaborate effectively on larger teams and possesses accurate data entry skills and an eye for detail.

Cash Applications Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

• Deposit, process and reconcile account receivables remittances
• Perform periodic audits of the accounts receivable to capture unapplied payments and credits documents and correct accordingly
• Address payment issues like double payments or other discrepancies

Accounts Payable Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

• Match purchase orders confirming prices and quantity to vendors’ invoices
• Enter invoices in accounting system for payments ensuring correct approval, coding and matching
• Coordinate with vendors regarding invoicing and payment inquiries and discrepancies
• Respond to vendors inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Process cheque runs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in finance or accounting preferred but not required
• Prior experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable cash applications
• Ability to work independently and contribute to broader team objectives
• Ability to multitask and manage time amid multiple deadlines
• Superb written and verbal communications skills
