EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR – TRAINEE – Starting 24/1/2022
Do you have a genuine interest in working in the Early Childhood profession? Are you 18 or older? Do you want to earn while you study? Then become a part of our passionate, supportive and diverse team of Educators working in Kogarah with this full-time 12 month Traineeship position. Experienced Educators will support you as you learn on the job, while studying for your Certificate III in Children’s Services.
Lorikeet Early Learning Centre, St George Hospital at Kogarah was established in 1990 by the NSW Government to provide care and education to children of parents working within the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). We are an employer-sponsored, 56 place, long day care service that is well resourced and provides good conditions for staff. We operate at above legal ratios and are committed to providing high quality care and education. This position is Monday to Friday, 8.5 hour shifts, between 6.30am and 6.15pm with monthly ADOs.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
Selection Criteria
- Intention to enroll in a course of study to achieve within 12 months, a Certificate 111 level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent as determined by ACECQA).
- Genuine interest and ability to interact and engage with young children and their families.
- Understanding of the importance of the health, safety and wellbeing of children in an education and care setting.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, practice, develop and improve professional skills.
- Willingness to participate in quality improvement activities.
- Appropriate written and oral communication skills to enable you to communicate effectively through verbal and written means with management, colleagues and families.
