Southern NSW Local Health District Hiring for Nurse Educator (Grade 3) – SESLHD Drug and Alcohol Services – Perm FT Job at Sydney Full Time

SESLHD Drug and Alcohol Service offers a range of treatment and support services for people with problems from their alcohol, prescription or illicit drug use, and/or their families and carers. Outpatient D&A services are located in clinics at the Langton Centre in Surry Hills, St George
Hospital in Kogarah, and Caringbah Community Health Centre at Sutherland Hospital. Inpatient D&A services are provided at Sydney Hospital, Prince of Wales, St. George and Sutherland Hospitals. Our goal is to improve health, wellbeing and social outcomes for individuals, families and the community, related to drug and alcohol use.

The Nurse Educator is responsible for the efficient and effective provision and evaluation of education, training and professional development for new and existing staff of the SESLHD Drug & Alcohol Service. Key responsibilities of the position include:

• Implementation of the Workforce Development Package for the AOD NSW Health Clinical Care Standards for AOD Treatment.

• Coordination and evaluation of the education and training program to the Drug & Alcohol multidisciplinary workforces, including in-service schedules, staff orientation, clinical skills and competencies, and other professional development activities.

• Establishment of the Drug & Alcohol Service as an active participant in the SESLHD GradStart program by coordinating and evaluating rotational placements for graduate nurses
