JOB SUMMARY

The Cancer Registrar is responsible for the procurement and timely submission of information regarding all patients diagnosed and treated for cancer at Southern New Hampshire Medical

Center.

Essential duties:

• Must be proficient in Windows, have excellent database management skills and other computer skills including data entry, ACOS coding/abstracting. Strong written and oral communication skills with particular emphasis on presentation skills. Strong customer service skills.
• Must be comfortable interacting with employees, medical staff and customers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Associates Degree preferred High school Diploma required.

Experience:

• Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or certification eligible and certification achieved within 2 years of hire.
• 3-5 years’ experience in registry ing in an ACOS accredited program preferred.
• Experience in abstracting staging (AJCC, SEER, FORDS).
• Strong knowledge of Certified Tumor Registrar requirements, methods, concepts and processes
