About the opportunity

Southern Cross University is seeking a Graduate Accountant to help support the University’s objectives and strategic directions by providing financial support within the corporate finance function. This is an exceptional opportunity to be mentored and build a career in corporate finance with a University on pursuit of transforming tomorrow. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
• Assist internal and external stakeholders with transactional enquiries.
• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts, including preparing journals, workpapers and account reconciliations.
• Assist the Corporate Finance Team with treasury management, taxation requirements and financial reporting.

About you

As a recent Graduate with a business, finance or accounting degree, you are looking to kick start your career in corporate finance. You have an appetite to develop your knowledge and thrive in an environment that is forever evolving. More specifically, you will have:

• A relevant university degree and current membership, or eligibility for membership, with CPA Australia or CAANZ.
• An ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong numeracy and financial data management skills with an eye for detail.
• An ability to interpret and apply relevant policy and procedures.

Salary and benefits

• Full-time, fixed term (3 years)
• Located at Lismore.
• HEW Level 3. The base salary ranges from $60,174 – $65,704 per annum, plus 17% employers contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $76,873.
