Your new role
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is offering a great opportunity for a hardworking and well organised Mentoring Officer to support the delivery of the 60 Minute Mentor (60MM) Project. The 60MM project is managed by the Economic Development and Skills Team at Southend-on-Sea Borough Council. This is a full time position that offers flexible and hybrid working patterns.
This is a rewarding role responsible for the planning, implementation, publicity and delivery of the 60MM project. Specifically, the post holder will:
This role will also support the Economic Development and Skills team in delivery across a variety of activities, including business engagement.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be reliable and able to work in a confident manner liaising with schools and business mentors to facilitate the running of mentoring sessions. As a highly organised and efficient person, you will have a high level of literacy, IT competency, and well developed written and communication skills as the job involves frequent liaison and coordination with stakeholders and members of the public. Fantastic interpersonal skill are required for this role as you be working with a range of people including young people, local business representatives and council stakeholders.
