As the Data PRV team Leader, you’ll be at the centre of delivery to ensure the smooth running of an asset maintenance operational team. You’ll use your initiative and problem solving abilities to ensure all leakage data equipment and software systems are kept well maintained and in good repair. Each year we have to ensure that we meet a leakage target set by our regulator (OFWAT). Your team will play an intrinsic part in helping to achieve better results for the company by ensuring our leakage detection devices and assets are kept performing.
Leading a Data PRV team of South East Water of between 6-12 technicians and contractors, you’ll be responsible for their safe working and operational performance. You’ll engage in desk and field based work to assist your team. In this role, you’ll promote safe working practices, manage team performance and appraisals, conduct audits, manage local budgets and spend, you’ll also plan and schedule workloads.
This means you’ll have a background in the water industry, water distribution, water production, network or either a planning or production background. You’ll be required to work across our operational hours between 07:00 – 19:00 Monday – Saturday. There’s also a requirement to work a management standby rota.
As a Data PRV Team Leader, you can be sure no two days are ever the same. You’ll help your team to solve Data or PRV problems no matter how complex the issue. You’ll check and correct problems and will know when issues need to be escalated. You’ll also deputise for the Regional Leakage Manager to attend meetings and provide area cover when it’s needed. So, what’s really important is that you bring you’re excellent customer focus, you take pride in your work and that you like to find new ways of solving problems, leading your team to get it ‘right first time, every time’.

What you’ll deliver
- You’ll manage the workload of the team to ensure all targets are achieved in their SLA set.
- You’ll provide day to day operational support to the Data PRV team, carry out audits on work completed and monitoring productivity.
- You’ll be responsible for Planning & scheduling the teams working alongside the PRV scheduler to ensure the technicians have an adequate workload at all times.
- You’ll triage requests for night team assistance from Data PRV Technicians, distribution & the wider business.
- You’ll review operational processes and input into improvements to aid efficiency.
- You’ll ensure Health and Safety practices, policy and procedures for both staff and contractors are adhered to.
- You’ll ensure Regulations Inspections are carried out as required and targets for compliance met.
- You’ll assist in the development of Data PRV technicians to maximise effectiveness, productivity and efficiency in service delivery.
What you bring to the role
- You’ll be experienced in the water industry within the discipline of water distribution or Network background.
- You’ll preferably have experience with Data and PRV’s
- You’ll know how to manage Health and Safety for teams and contractors.
- You can motivate teams, solve problems, plan activity and strategies.
- You have good communication and customer service skills.
