Somerset County Educational Services Commission Confidential Employee Effective May 20, 2022 As needed, as assigned, based on programmatic needs Human Resources & Payroll Manager 12 months, full-time position with benefits The Human Resources & Payroll Manager will be responsible for the administration of the Human Resources functions, including but not limited to recruiting, administration of benefits, compliance, payroll processing, and workers compensation. Daily responsibilities include, but not limited to, timely and accurate completion of new hire paperwork, monitoring employee benefits administration, posting of open positions, working with department heads on coaching and progressive guidance, preparing 26 payrolls per year and corresponding tax payments, preparing and distributing W2s and other necessary documents, dealing with staff safety issues, and various other duties. Qualifications. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or coursework in related field preferred; Associate Degree required School business office experience preferred Systems 3000 payroll experience preferred Proficient with Google Suite for Education (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Slides), Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro General knowledge of federal and state HR and payroll laws Familiarity with the implementation of collective bargaining agreements Experience with office-based technological applications, especially spreadsheets Attention-to-detail, excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, follow- up, and problem solving Strong planning, organization, analytical, consultative and decision-making skills Ability to work independently to meet objectives, with minimal supervision Strong work ethic and high ethical standards Ability to work effectively under pressure, while contributing to the morale and productivity of a small Business Office.
