Our LA-based client is seeking an experienced Product Developer with 360° experience creating product from the Designer’s concept and sketch.

Responsibilities:

Develop new treatments, fabrics, and processes that will expand a sustainable platform
Communicate with mills and factories and vendors to create, track, and order products
Collect trends, research, and concepts for new seasons
Track timing and be accountable for orders as needed
Load trims and materials into PLM system
Work collaboratively and be adaptable as a self-starter, motivated team-player, and multi-tasker
Communicate with mills and factories and vendors to create, track, and order products

Attend trade show and meet with vendors
Counter source for better pricing, quality, or timing
Educate team members and company about fabric and material properties
Visit mills and suppliers
Partner with Design and Technical team to put new styles into work
Develop new fabrics and new versions of fabrics

Qualifications:

Must bring advanced material/fabric knowledge of wovens, knits, yarn, and trims
Knowledge of garment construction for both men’s and women’s
Experience working with Washes to work with vendors to create washes and treatments that are in tune with the aesthetic
Experience with Testing to test fabrics for technical properties and Quality to meet standards for crocking, light exposure, pilling, and other QC tests
Organizational skills
Time management and the ability to prioritize and self-manage for working on lead time projects and quick strike ones on track
Presentation skills – board creation, sample boards and decks in Keynote or Google Sheets
Computer skills (Microsoft Office, PDM, Photoshop, Google Suite)
Communication skills – ability to be clear, concise, and direct
