We’re working with a specialist in utility, electrical infrastructure, flood defence projects, nuclear, factories and retail design, they have been doing this for almost 15 years and hold a strong position in the market, growing year upon year.

Due to healthy growth and plans to expand, they’re now looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer to join them on their journey.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to:

• Concept and detailed structural design of projects including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber design
• Structural assessments of existing buildings and design of repairs/refurbishments
• Structural calculations to British Standards and Eurocodes
• Determine project specifications by client requirements, and performance standards; complete technical studies; prepare cost estimates
• Identify technical solutions and undertake feasibility studies to identify optimum designs
• Attend site for progress meetings and in a construction supervision capacity
• Be responsible for and take accurate site measurements from inception through to construction to ensure accuracy of information produced

Skills and experiences required:

• Master’s civil or structural engineering degree (MEng/MSc or similar)
• Chartered Engineer with a relevant professional body (IStructE or ICE)
• Full UK driving licence
• A sound understanding of construction methods and processes
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles and use of technical analysis
• Experience designing structures to Eurocodes, British Standards and Building Regulations
• Experience using structural design software, preferably Autodesk Robot and Tekla Tedds
