About the Role

SoftLabs is looking for Agile Project Manager to join their technology consulting who will work offsite in partnership with the Project Leader to manage the delivery of technology R&D projects with multiple stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Experience managing R&D projects that advance technology readiness e.g. from discovery to software development to deployment

• A history of successfully managing multiple project schedules, budgets, resources and deliverables at the same time

• Experience in managing multiple complex stakeholder relationships with a customer focus

• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary, regionally dispersed R&D team across multiple organisations

• High-level communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to anticipate the interests and knowledge level of an audience and present information and feedback accordingly

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with researchers to deliver projects in an R&D environment

• Experience implementing a project management framework with a focus on risk management in a new or ambiguous setting

• Proficiency with collaborative tools supporting software delivery such as Git and JIRA

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and implement a new project framework for management of multi-year projects

• Work with project teams to develop detailed statements of work

• Create & manage project plans, define project schedule and manage resources

• Monitor and manage scope of multiple projects

• Identify risks and issues, often in ambiguous circumstances, using judgement to prioritise and escalate matters that may impact delivery

• Manage risk tracking process and implement mitigation strategies

• Setup and manage process of issue identification and resolution

• Work with project and client teams to develop technology solutions using agile techniques

• Manage an IP register to ensure appropriate sharing of data, code and information

• Set up and manage sprints and sprint reviews

• Manage project documentation

• In collaboration with the Project Leader, prepare and deliver advice, reports, presentations, analyses, plans and briefings to relevant stakeholders

• In collaboration with the Project Leader and Business Development team, foster partnership with clients, stakeholders and sponsors

• Coordinate project communications content, artefacts and events

• Develop best practise for managing and sharing technical content

• Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary, regionally dispersed team, primarily using remote tools

• Maintain high ethical and performance standards

• Communicate openly, effectively and respectfully with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement

• Adhere to the spirit and practice good Code of Conduct, Health, Safety and Environment procedures and policy, Diversity initiatives and Making Safety Personal goals.

• Other duties as directed.
