Position Location: Canarctic Plant (North York, ON) Shift Timing: Afternoon Shift Position Summary: To assist with the set up and operation of line processing at the manufacturing facilities in a safe and productive manner. We have current vacancies on the day and afternoon shifts. Key Accountabilities: • Work in and promote a safe environment • Must work strictly in compliance with all Health & Safety requirements • Produce a safe and quality product according to product specifications and HACCP/Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manual. Operate the equipment within specified parameters.
Efficient use of materials is achieved while operating within tolerances. Assist in the proper rotation of defrosted and fresh raw materials. Organizes all materials to be used on the production lines. Keeps accurate records of materials used during the shift and makes reports accordingly.
Check and record weights of raw materials as required. Ensures cleanliness maintained in all the work areas. • FINISHED GOODS: Keeps accurate records of finished products. Moves product form production to freezing areas as often as necessary to maintain freezing.
Moves finished product from the floor during breaks or other major line stoppages. Ensures cleanliness maintained in all the work areas. • CLEANING: Ensures cleanliness maintained in all the work areas. Responsible for removal of food and other waste from the production line.
Ensures cleanliness of outside food and trash compactor, as well as the surrounding area. Responsible for clearing all production doors and passageways of ice, snow or other materials. • REPORTS: Reports are accurate clear and informative. All needed data to reflect the days events must be recorded.
All comments should describe the facts, action taken, and results • COMMUNICATION: Communicate with colleagues and supervisors with an open mind and exchange feedback in a constructive manner. • Other relevant duties as assigned by PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR and or DESIGNATE. Requirements: • Necessary skills to organize and plan and report. • Necessary skills for verbal and written communication in English.
Hearing protection is mandatory. • The use of Rubber safety boots is mandatory. • There may be occasional travel between plants. In compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the incumbent is responsible to work in a safe manner and report all events causing personal injury and/or structural damage as well as any unsafe and/or unhealthy conditions immediately to his/her manager.
