Social Work England Hiring for Policy Manager (Education and Training) Job at Sheffield, England Full Time

Working with the head of policy and 3 other policy managers, you will lead on key elements of our education and training agenda. You will be responsible for leading the development, delivery and implementation of key policies likely to improve the quality of social work education in England. You will use engagement, evidence and research to inform your work, advising senior members of the organisation and featuring the voices of people with lived experience of social work.

What you will do

• Build relationships with sector leaders in order to deliver our ambitious developments for social work education and training
• Lead the way on our public consultations in the area of education and training, working seamlessly with legal, communications and engagement colleagues
• Build knowledge and understanding of the wider political and policy environment in tertiary education and provide specialist insight and advice
• Bring experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders and using consultation, engagement and/or co-production to develop plans or proposals
• Work closely with the head of quality assurance and the education quality assurance team to respond to emerging policy matters around education and training
• Work as one policy team, support the development of new standards in mental health and capacity, procure research and contribute to major publications
• Demonstrate excellent public speaking skills and be able to present at a variety of forums, including the senior and executive leadership team, and the board
• Apply and manage relevant equality and diversity policy and practice including analysing policy proposals for compliance with the public sector equality duty

• Deputise for the head of policy as and when required
