A new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated financial professional to join our fast-paced finance team as a Finance Officer, based in our Head Offices in London.

About the role:

The Finance Officer will be collectively responsible for carrying out the day to day functions of the Finance team for all procurement and payment of suppliers; as well as overseeing the full purchasing process, ensuring continuous service, quality improvement and achievement of agreed financial outcome. Working part of a wider team, the successful candidate will ensure all invoices, payments and receipts are processed in a timely manner and in line with policies and procedures.

Main duties of the role include providing a range of practical and technical financial services, including accounts payable and receivable administration, budget management, expenses, invoicing, and housing rents. You will also take ownership of calculating, reconciling, investigating, and resolving any discrepancies in areas of work assigned and provide support to the Finance Manager on other areas where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring all invoices are registered in the accounting system and payment of expenses, invoices and credit notes are processed in a timely, accurate and effective manner
• Produce customer account and supplier statement reconciliation monthly
• Preparing the BACS/cheque payment runs and ensuring remittances & signed cheques are sent out promptly
• Manage the expenses on procurement card accounts and administer the petty cash float
• Responding to finance related queries from both internal stakeholders and external suppliers in a timely manner
• Provide financial and management accounting information, both regular and ad-hoc, to Directors and Managers within the Group to enable them to manage their financial resources effectively
• Effective management of the Finance Team central mailbox, responding to and escalating emails as appropriate
• Managing and prioritising workload, ensuring contribution to monthly financial reporting processes is achieved, whilst supporting colleagues

Skills Required:

• Proven experience of purchase ledger accounting as well as payments and banking, including bank reconciliation etc
• Experience in using Open Accounts and the ability to use other financial data systems for data enquiries and input
• Ability to analyse and interrogate accounts together, managing budgets with excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Experience in a similar position working in a finance/accounting environment
• IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills and experience of complex spreadsheets
• Flexible, willing to adapt and develop in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Excellent standard of attention to detail and accuracy in preparing high quality finance and reporting information
• Ability to prioritise competing commitments, and work accurately and methodically under pressure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Understanding of need for and willingness to develop effective financial procedures and controls
