Snyk Hiring for Senior Accountant – UK Job at London, England Full Time

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and technical Senior Accountant to join our Finance team to execute month-end close and to serve as a cross-functional business partner with respect to implementing an overhaul to the existing process. This is a crucial position where you will be responsible for reviewing and closing our UK books.

You are passionate about accounting and are knowledgeable about UK and US GAAP. You are a change agent and thrive in positions where change and rapid growth are constant. You are confident in designing new processes from beginning to end, and in ensuring the proper controls and documentation are in place. You are detail-oriented and deadline-sensitive to ensure that books are closed in a timely and accurate manner. You’ll spend your time:

• preparing the month-ends reporting and will own the M&A pack of our UK entity
• reviewing and processing payment runs, and ensuring they are approved promptly
• working across multiple processes to ensure a series of tight deadlines are met
• reviewing and processing payroll journals
• reviewing the accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions processed by the team
• reviewing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
• some ad-hoc tasks such as dealing with option grants/exercises and the consequent filing and taxation
• improving the processes that we use so that they’re frictionless, effective and precise

You should apply if you:

• have a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and a solid understanding of financial reporting standards
• master UK GAAP FRS 102 and US GAAP
• have worked in a fast-moving, dynamic organisation, and enjoy the challenges brought by an environment of rapid growth and change
• understand how a SaaS business works, and you’re accustomed to forecasting ARR, MRR and CLTV
• build strong relationships both with colleagues and external parties (lawyers, banks, accounting & audit firms)
• have experience working with subsidiaries and non-UK financial reporting standards
• are experienced in payroll accounting and well versed in issues such as income tax, labor laws, social benefits, pension contributions, social security and travel reimbursement policies
• you are extremely organised and exceptionally attentive to detail
• you prioritise effectively, with attention to both business impact and external deadlines
• you like working as part of a team and building relationships with stakeholders across the business
• you see finance as a tool to enable business

We’d especially love to hear from you if you:

• are experienced in either Payfit, Netsuite and Flowcast
• have been working for a Public Company
• are familiar with SOX controls
