An exciting opportunity exists for an eager and driven individual to join the Finance team based in Cooma as an Accounting Assistant. Joining a high performing Finance Team, this role will be pivotal in supporting the day to day functions of the team by completing regular banking and accounts reconciliation, preparing journals and accruals for the month end reporting and accounts payable among other tasks.

As Accounting Assistant you will be responsible for:
Assisting in standard and ad hoc journal entry and end of period processing requirements

Review of transactions on a monthly basis to ensure correct categorisation and tax treatment, and to ensure compliance requirements are met

Represent Snowy Hydro’s commercial requirements to audit and other external parties

Assisting in the preparation of high quality group and project monthly reports.

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a financial/ accounting background, strong verbal and written communication skills and a well developed analytical mind with the ability to think laterally. You will have a willingness to learn and develop with a hunger to grow in the position. Needless to say you will also have a high level of attention to detail, along with advanced computer skills.
