PURPOSE

The position is responsible for directing all aspects of accounting/administration for the Snoqualmie Casino in accordance with Snoqualmie Casino Tribal Gaming Act and Washington State Gaming Commission regulations. Establishes departmental policies and procedures; develops and monitors all departmental budgets to ensure their profitable operation. Oversees Accounting, Revenue Audit, Compliance, and Drop/Count operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hire, retain, motivate, evaluate and direct general and administrative staff under scope of oversight, ensuring team members receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
• Establish department standards, guidelines and objectives and maintains other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.
• Review strengths and weaknesses of all general and administrative functions in order to most effectively implement changes to improve operations and most efficiently allocate resources.
• Manage the preparation and review of financial reports to ensure reasonableness, completeness and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and distribution and revision (when appropriate) of reports.
• Oversight of the Drop/Count Team to ensure appropriate staffing and policies and procedures are established and followed.
• Review cash disbursements to ensure propriety, reasonableness, and compliance with established procedures, and releases disbursements or investigates and resolves discrepancies.
• Ensure that compliance is maintained with Title 31 requirements and all minimum internal accounting controls and continually monitors and evaluates the system of internal controls with the objective of identifying and resolving any significant weaknesses.
• Ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, exercise initiative and judgement and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
• Assist in other projects, as directed by the CFO.

. Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• 4-year Bachelor Degree, with emphasis in Accounting or Finance;
• 10 years accounting experience with 5 years, supervisory experience required;
• 10 years of automated accounting, experience required; and
• Five (5) years of experience working with Title 31 Compliance;
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience to satisfy the above requirements.

Skills and Abilities:

• Proven working knowledge of financial analytical techniques required.
• Proven working knowledge of computers required (Great Plains, Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Proven organization, time management and communication skills required.
• Proven problem-solving skills required.
• 10-key by touch required.
• Pleasant Disposition and ability to interact with all Team Members.
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and with meticulous attention to detail
• The ability to work with minimal supervision

PREFERRED

Education and Experience:

• Snoqualmie Casino Career Development Track Series completion.
• Tribal Gaming accounting experience preferred.

Snoqualmie Casino exercises Snoqualmie Tribal Member/Native American preference in hiring, in compliance with the Snoqualmie Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). You must obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Snoqualmie Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for Security, Surveillance and DOT panel testing is required for Transportation positions.
