Smiths Group Hiring for Reliability Engineer (El Dorado, Kansas) Full Time

John Crane is currently hiring a Reliability Engineer for the John Crane – El Dorado, Kansas location. The position will be housed in the Holly Frontier Refinery and duties will include developing seal solutions, providing recommendations and working directly with maintenance and operations to increase rotating equipment reliability. This job requires the use of engineering judgment, and the application of standard engineering techniques to work with personnel onsite to address and improve reliability.

Reliability Engineering involves working with people onsite in multiple departments, troubleshooting equipment, and specify engineering solutions for rotating equipment applications to meet customer requirements. Providing technical support and training to plant personell and tracking and implementing solutions to improve performance and reliability.

Work is primarily out of the refinery but some travel may be needed for training or assistance with sales. Position s to Regional Engineer and has a high degree of advancement.

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for:

• Providing training to maintenance, reliabilty and operations personnel.
• Working with plant personell to diagnose and provide solutions.
• Provide RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) s.
• Reviewing applications and providing recommendations.
• Working with internal/external personal and building relationships to meet customer needs/expectations and ensure company targets are met.
• Providing support/assistance for branch personnel as required.
• Providing training to end users and internal employees if needed.
• Communicate orally and in writing with customers, sales and company personnel and vendors providing counseling, recommendations and technical assistance.
• Additional duties and responsibilities will vary based upon departmental needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge and aptitude highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of personal computing, CAD (Solid Edge preferred) and application software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
